Municipal Stadium at Central Park

Home of the 2013 Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament

Dating back to 1896, Municipal Stadium at Central Park is one of the oldest ballparks in Minnesota. Located on the north side of Delano, Municipal Stadium gives visitors a sense of community pride.

Delano has hosted three Minnesota State Amateur Baseball tournaments in 1975, 1984, and 1997. In 2013 with the support of the community we will once again be hosting the state tournament. Work has already gotten underway as major improvements will be made to update the facility to make it even more fan and player friendly. A new scoreboard will be installed this spring in addition to projects continuing this fall; including the renovation of the press box and the building of a new concession stand.

In 1948, with the founding of the Delano Athletic Club, Municipal Stadium became one of the first ballparks in Minnesota to have lights. In 1996 a new grandstand was built, which replaced the old grandstand that had stood over a seventy-five year period. The modern grandstand seats approximately 750 spectators, while facilitating a press box and concession stand.

One of the most eloquent features of Municipal Stadium is its ivy-covered fences. On a summer evening, Municipal Stadium has one of the most intimate settings you'll find for baseball in the state.
